UNDERGRADUATE TRANSFER

Prospective Undergraduate Students: Transfer Students

The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering admits qualified transfer students who have completed an Associate in Arts degree at a Florida public community or state college.  Students seeking admission form other universities or out-of-state schools may be condsidered for admission on a space available basis. Transfer students are admitted in fall, spring and summer C terms. Transfer students who are admitted to UF as non-engineering majors genrally cannot change theor major to engineering

Admission Requirements for Electrical Engineering majors:

Transfer admissions is highly competitive for the electrical engineering program, we are unable to admit every applicant to the program. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. The minimum  grade point average requirement for the electrical engineering program overall  is a 2.00 GPA and  overall critical tracking is a 2.50 GPA.  A competitive applicant will have completed majority of the critical tracking courses and will have a GPA above the minimum requirement.  A grade of C or better is required within first 2 attempts including withdrawals.  The average critical tracking GPA is based on the students that are applying to that specfic semester. The average critical tracking GPA for Spring 2016 and Summer 2016 is 3.50.  The strength of the applicant pool determines admission ratio.  Applications are evaluated at one time; we do not have rolling admissions. Admissions notification will made after the deadline of the term.

Critical Tracking Courses:

MAC2311 Analytical Geometry & Calculus 1

MAC2312 Analytical Geometry & Calculus 2

MAC2313 Analytical Geometry & Calculus 3

MAP2302 Differential Equations

PHY2048 + lab Physics with Calculus 1

PHY2049 + lab Physics with Calculus 2

CHM2045 + lab General Chemistry 1

Biological Science or CHM2046 General Chemistry 2

*It is advised that you have the CT courses completed in red completed before your first semester enrolling in UF; to track correctly in the EE core courses.

Admission Requirements for Computer Engineering majors:

It is the department's policy to admit the best qualified applicants as demonstrated by high academic achievement. Successful applicants have earned an overall grade point average of 2.0 or higher and have completed six of the eight pre-professional critical tracking courses with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher throughout the completion of all eight critical tracking courses. Physics with Calculus 1 (including lab) must be one of the six completed critical tracking courses. Although the labs are required in the degree, the grades earned in the lab courses are not computed in the critical tracking grade point average.

In addition, only two tracking courses can be repeated, each having one additional attempt. A repeated course does not include a first attempt of "W" (withdrawal). Additional attempts will be given grade forgiveness within the tracking GPA. However, a grade of C or better must be earned by the second attempt, including withdrawals.

Pre-Professional Courses:

MAC2311 Analytical Geometry & Calculus 1 (4 credits)

MAC2312 Analytical Geometry & Calculus 2 (4 credits)

MAC2313 Analytical Geometry & Calculus 3 (4 credits)

MAP2302 Differential Equations (3 credits)

PHY2048 + lab Physics with Calculus 1 (4 credits)

PHY2049 + lab Physics with Calculus 2 (4 credits)

CHM2045 + lab General Chemistry 1 (4 credits)

CHM2046* General Chemistry 2 (3 credits)

*Note: Students may substitute any General Education course with a designation of P or B for CHM2046.
